Patchick 3
Patchick 3 is a delicate open cluster of 20-25 stars located just ½° south of Capella, the 6th brightest star, and nearly overwhelmed by its light. My very good friend Dana Patchick discovered this from his garden using an old Coulter 13.1" Dobsonian. His technique was to sweep around bright stars and slowly move out from them in a circular search pattern looking for anything interesting by way of star gatherings.
