Si 1-2
Si 1-2 is an enigmatic planetary nebula that has, to my knowledge, never been imaged before other than appearing on sky surveys.
It was discovered by Gisela Strigl in 1996.
It is relatively small at 60 arc seconds, and reasonably bright as this was captured by moonlight.
A Google search turns up no information about it,
Spectroscopy wasn't performed until 15/05/2016 by the OSIRIS instrument.
Osiris is the Optical System for Imaging and low-Intermediate-Resolution Integrated Spectroscopy at the world's largest single-aperture optical telescope (the Gran Telescopio Canarias - a 10.4 m reflecting telescope located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma, in the Canaries, Spain).
This confirmed that Si 1-2 is a true planetary nebula.
My thanks to Sakib Rasool for suggesting this target.
