Strottner-Drechsler Object 30
NEW DISCOVERY: Strottner-Drechsler Object 30
A particularly interesting and at the same time enigmatic cosmic object.
In 2020, our team discovered "Strottner-Drechsler Object 30" in the constellation Eridanus - the nature of which is still unknown.
Despite the creation of a spectrum, it could not be clarified what exactly this nebula is.
Particularly exciting about Strottner-Drechsler Object 30 are the striking arcs and rings that could be detected in various chemical elements.
The core of the structure also shines particularly brightly in the ultraviolet spectrum.
However, we could not find a hot star responsible for the shape.
The photo shows the nebula in false colours with ionised hydrogen (H-alpha) coloured in blue and ionised sulphur (SII) in red.
Oxygen (OIII) could not be detected despite a very long exposure time.
